Learning Experiences of Essentials of Fundamental Nursing Skills among Nursing Students: Focused on Lab Self-training

Abstract

|
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the learning experiences of essentials of fundamental nursing skills focused on self-training among nursing students.
Methods: Purposeful and convenience sample of 11 nursing students who experienced self-training for essentials of fundamental nursing skills were recruited. Unstructured interviews were conducted for data collection. An interpretive description was used for data analysis.
Results: Four core themes were revealed: Being confused, emotional comfort, Non-autonomy, and Acquire skills.
Conclusion: Nursing students realized that essentials of fundamental nursing skills focused on self-training were learned by emotional comfort based on sufficient equipment and supplies, autonomous atmosphere.
